Carlier joins Cahuzac’s coaching team at Lens

Lens announced on 7 October that Vincent Carlier will be Yannick Cahuzac’s assistant.

Context

Promoting a coach from within can help communication between development teams and the senior squad. Familiarity does not guarantee immediate results, but it offers a chance to see how methods and knowledge of players transfer into daily work.

Racing’s continuing identity is also reflected in the shirt.

What to watch

The assessment will be sporting: organisation, individual development and collective response. An announcement of a coaching change should be distinguished from its effects, which can only be assessed through work and matches.
