Jorge Jesus announced his first Portugal squad on September 18. The 25-player selection includes four additions to the World Cup group: Samuel Soares, Nuno Tavares, João Palhinha and Fábio Silva. Cristiano Ronaldo is also included.
What changes in the squad
Samuel Soares receives his first senior call-up. His inclusion adds an option in goal, while the other additions involve different areas of the pitch. Selection brings an opportunity to take part in preparations; it does not yet establish who will play or which system the new coach will use.
